This is a poem I wrote years ago, but I still sing it in my head from time to time.
And it's copywritten ;)
duck did his alley rock; walk
lie in grass
releas the energy of over a year.
Love; Hate; Pain
something of the sort
down comes the rain
this life was too short
wrists were slit to ensure happiness
for the sake of another
l.o.v.e.
love the way i
over exaggerate the
very thought of the
end.
for the time being we fly.
lie.
here in this grass as the
rain falls down.
when you can't tell because
of so much
rain.
the blades cutting deep into
the backs of those you thought you
loved.
the love that will never end.
but the like that has already passed.
thoreau was a freedom writer
the time has come, Neil Perry.
Lay down your life from
oppression.
just watch the lives of your many
fade into the
back drop.
the day i stood out was the day you
misunderstood.
the day you missed out
the day you saw me
naked.
your contract ended.
your choice.
Nights; Cars; Lights
something of the sort.
something like candy
stand out in my mind
not knowing why
strawberries and wine tast so
bittersweet.
you have become the song of my
defeat.
and this pen runs out of ink
as will love run out of time.
to the many who feel what you feel,
i don't.
my ink will never run dry.
my batteries will never die.
our love will keep on ticking
though the blades run deep into my back.
the time came to sit.
talk; laugh; cry;
something of the sort.
to you who has given up
you die.
to me who has not
i live.
the time has come to fight.
keep on
breathing; writing; living
something of the sort.
for my life.
drop off.
raise up.
and Elton John
with "friends"
ruin it with words before thoughts.
to the apologetic,
you will not be forgiven.
